Synopsis:   Reporting to head of IT Governance, the Data Governance Lead is responsible for building out a process for data governance, ensuring that all data governance models are operating well, ensuring any new 'asks' are accounted for and providing triangulation and quality control for all internal data processes.

 

Responsibilities:

R1:  Shape the business and technology strategy

  • Establish Technology principles and standards for data strategy and data architecture
  • Own technology and maturity roadmap for how data will be governed
  • Ensure that all technology decisions are made in a transparent, systematic way, which is compliant with internal and external policies and regulations 

R2:  Evolve technology to meet and exceed needs

  • Build and enforce data engineering standards
  • Ensure and oversee secure, compliant data engineering machines and standards (liaise with corporate security and compliance)

R3:  Deliver technology services according to business needs

  • Ensure that data solutions are developed within established standards.
  • Establish and enforce operational standards, which consider risk security and compliance of various laws and regulations.
  • Educate teams on WGLL and how to achieve consistent, scalable, sustainable and reliable data models.

R4: Contribute to high performing governance team and to the technology community

  • Reduce administrative inefficiencies and improve data reporting
  • Lead by example in challenging the status quo and evaluating processes and people objectively
  • Participate to maintain a high performing community based on trust, coaching and feedback

R5:  Manage IPS Technology’s financials, compliance, security and risk

  • Maintain a synthesis of the state of compliance, risk and security and deal with top issues
  • Manage Compliance and liaise with internal/external auditors
  • Build risk framework and manage technology risk (liaise with corporate risk)

  • Knowledge of Compliance in FS industry
  • Knowledge of risk methodologies
  • Deep knowledge of technology security
  • Understanding of corporate governance and PMO standards
