The Vendor Tech Manager is responsible for insuring that the set of internal and external suppliers are managed to deliver maximum value as a group. He/she insures that Responsible Party’s (RP) for individual vendors engage with vendors in a systematic and coordinated way. He/she is leveraged by these RPs at the Quality Assurance (QA) level and keep an on-going synthesis of the state of the value delivered by the vendors. He/she works closely with procurement as well as the Product Managers to achieve the goal.


The ideal candidate is considered very organized, holds themselves and others accountable, sets and maintains high standards.  They are open minded with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  The candidate is results-oriented and able to influence continuous improvement and delivery of value across multiple levels of the organization.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand the business strategy and influence technology strategy 
  • Evolve technology capabilities, solutions, feature delivery to meet and exceed requirements while ensuring system stability and resiliency
  • Ensure vendors provide good technology services and solution delivery according to commitments
  • Act as a member of a high performing team and a valued contributor to the strong technology community
  • Manage IPS vendor-related financials, compliance, security and risk


A great candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on, professional experience building distributed systems in a multi-language environment
  • Experienced in technology relationship management; enterprise vendor asset management
  • Experience working extensively with strategic vendors as a solution providing entity
  • Knowledgeable in object-oriented development patterns and building high-volume, high-availability systems
  • Knowledgeable of current software engineering trends, best practices and standards
  • Knowledgeable in source code management and quality assurance practices across various stages of a project lifecycle
  • Experienced in technical feature and program/project delivery and management with strong understanding of “what good looks like”
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Enjoy fast-paced environments and working in teams
  • Analytical and detail oriented
  • Creative and motivated
