What's the role?

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide focus and support for Northwestern Mutual’s Talent Management strategies in the areas of performance management, talent review and movement, succession planning, and assessment. Via teamwork within the Talent Management team, and in partnership with multiple HR and business stakeholders, you will:

  • Help design, develop and execute talent management processes, tools, and technologies that support and evolve the company’s Talent Management, Succession Planning and High Potential development approach
  • Play a critical role in representing the team’s interests within our HCM systems, ensuring features evolve to meet talent management needs,
  • Work on special projects as assigned, and
  • Manage project and resources for the team on an ongoing basis, including tracking and ensuring that:  key team projects are on track and on budget, communications, training, and change plans proactively address audience needs, and measurements and feedback loops are in place to determine successful accomplishment of desired outcomes.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or human resources development, communications, organizational development, or related field.
  •  Minimum of five years’ experience in human resources, adult education/training, instructional design, communications or organizational effectiveness.
  •  Minimum of three years’ experience in Talent Management.  Strong experience developing, delivering and managing effective talent processes and development solutions and measuring results coupled with translating business requirements into effective systems and technology solutions.
  • Demonstrates initiative, attention to detail, judgment and organization, along with demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple assignments concurrently, set priorities and meet aggressive deadlines with a commitment to team objectives.
  • Strong writing, project management and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels; demonstrated diplomacy and confidentiality, sensitivity and flexibility in adapting to rapidly changing needs and priorities; quick, effective decision-making skills. Ability to listen to, engage, negotiate and influence clients; synthesize and relate complex information; analyze communication and execution problems and opportunities; and develop and implement integrated training / educational strategies
