Senior Manager Client Activation

What's the Role?

The Senior Manager Client Activation, reporting to the Assistant Director is responsible for Field Adoption of over 70 yearly campaigns delivered to our 4.5MM Northwestern Mutual clients. An experienced communicator, with client marketing and field communications expertise, will be responsible for building out and executing field adoption strategies, across multiple products and programs, partnering with various business lines and senior stakeholders. The Senior Manager will be responsible for increasing field awareness of marketing programs and tools to improve share of wallet, cross-sell, upsell and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a strategic partner to key stakeholders, CMO’s, Career Distribution, and Product, etc. and identify consistent impactful field strategies and tactics that increase awareness of marketing programs and tools
  • Work with analytics to track effectiveness of communications developing dashboards/timely reports that show progress of programs initiated, based on key metrics; sales conversion rates, client and prospect registrations and engagement. Lead communication to the field on performance to increase results
  • Partner with key Home Office and Field Leadership to gain continuous feedback to improve communication process and channel effectiveness
  • Represent the field experience in the development and enhancement of marketing technologies that support field adoption.
  • Partner with marketing program managers to translate marketing programs to field to improve impact of programs and driving adoption of tools necessary to support programs

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 7 – 10 years of marketing/sales/field communication experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or sales and marketing desired
  • Experience working with Field personnel, Sales Representatives, Financial Advisors or similar.
  • Utilizes a consultative approach when partnering with key stakeholders.
  • Strong technical aptitude. Experience working with product and engineering, and possess an ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
  • A self-starter who demonstrates creativity to drive new marketing strategies. Always interested in learning, can work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and be influential within all levels of the Home Office, Field and outside parties.
  • Strong organization and leadership skills with proven experience in managing projects, systems, and/or processes.
  • Experience working with marketing organizations and knowledge of direct mail, email, social channels
  • Excellent communication skills, experience in delivering strategic projects to gain buy-in from senior leadership
  • Exceptional Project management and people skills
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to use data to optimize current programs and processes and identify new opportunities
  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce/Dynamics) and ESP (Exact Target/Marketo) a plus
