Senior Cybersecurity Engineer

The ideal candidate will be directly providing hands-on skills required to develop, configure, deploy and support security solutions for Email, Collaboration, and other Microsoft Office 365 products and services.  The Cybersecurity Engineer is a member of the Email Security & O365 Security Team who actively partners/collaborates with the Email & O365 product teams (colleagues at NM) to ensure security is appropriately integrated within the products being delivered throughout the organization.  Key security aspects which will be evaluated are Secure Email Gateway (Proofpoint), Email Authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), Identity and Access Management (Active Directory), Encryption (TLS), Data Protection (DLP), Networking, Audit and Logging.  Will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and reporting on information & technology risks in a manner that meets compliance/regulatory requirements; aligning to support the risk posture of the enterprise.  This will be achieved by leveraging a partnership with Information Risk Management to assure alignment of operational risk management practices & processes are in place.  Will assist leaders in prioritizing along with developing technologies & procedures to address information & technologies risks/security gaps. 


What you’ll do each day:

  • Develop, configure, deploy and support security solutions for Email, Collaboration and other Microsoft Office 365 products and services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Yammer, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Power BI, Intune, as well as working with our enterprise secure email gateway Proofpoint solution.
  • Note: Email & O365 product teams are responsible for the functional support of the Email & Microsoft Office 365 products
    • Keep abreast of Email Security & O365 Security industry trends & standards
    • Communicate effectively with technical & non-technical team members, colleagues, and leaders
    • Provide technical guidance to those who may not have the same in-depth knowledge of Email Security & O365 products

What skills do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, IT Engineering or a significant amount of directly-related work experience beyond the minimum required for the position
  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience
  • Solid understanding of email security, including infrastructure, mail flow, encryption, and other platform components
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products & Cyber Security with an eagerness to continue to grow this knowledge
  • Ability to identify security risks within the O365 environment and suggest mitigations
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Solid understanding of information risks and IT general controls
  • Solid understanding of risk management frameworks
  • Solid written and verbal communications skills
  • Partners well with others; proven ability to foster collaboration among team members and across teams
  • Proven analytical abilities in decision making and problem solving
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Solid ability to create and execute communication plans
