Posting Summary

As Risk Management Senior Specialist on the Privacy and Records Management Team, you will: maintain a foundation for management of information and technology risks; take responsibility for the evaluation, creation and publication of privacy and records management policies and controls; monitor, measure and report on effectiveness and efficiency of privacy and records management processes; investigate and respond to privacy incidents with the goal of minimizing impact to the business and assess risks and noncompliance issues to aid in making appropriate decisions. You hold yourself to a high standard, proactively working to attain/enhance pertinent industry knowledge in privacy, records and risk management.


Principle Accountabilities

  • Executing processes and monitoring, measuring and reporting on the effectiveness and efficiency of controls to comply with privacy and records management policies.       
  • Consulting and advising on the need for privacy and records management controls.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of Federal and State Laws and Regulations impacting the Privacy and Records Management Programs.
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the Enterprise Data Classification framework. 
  • Investigating and responding to privacy incidents to minimize impact to the business.
  • Assessing the regulatory environment as it relates to privacy and records management.
  • Assessing risks and noncompliance issues to aid in making appropriate decisions.
  • Creating and following operational processes with a focus on efficiency and compliance.

 Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in MIS, Business or related field; or related work experience beyond the minimum required
  • Three or more years of experience in information systems, compliance, or operational business areas with a demonstrated knowledge in technologies and processes
  • Ability to assess and implement policies and controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adjust to changing business needs by effectively managing and prioritizing concurrent assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to independently identify and resolve issues through effective problem-solving skills 
  • Strong ability to develop and leverage relationships
  • Ability to effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external partners
  • Ability to deliver informative, well-organized documentation and ability to effectively communicate in difficult and/or sensitive situations
  • Desire to continuously learn and improve

 Desired Requirements

  • Advanced education or certification in Privacy and/or Records Management
  • Willingness to achieve relevant industry education or certification within the first year of employment
