What's the role?

Works with Investment Risk professionals to apply economic, portfolio, asset class and industry studies to support investment risk and investment quantitative research and analytics functions. Contributes to development of complex analytical models to measure and monitor risk including stress testing and scenario analysis.  Applies industry best practices to modeling concepts and development, portfolio analysis and research projects.  Collaborates across Investment and Finance function and presents and leads discussion with Senior Investment and Financial Function leaders.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • With general supervision of more senior staff, continues to build technical know-how and applies it in economic, portfolio, asset class, and industry studies to support investment risk and performance functions.
  • Acts independently as a key contributor for refinement of econometric and quantitative modeling utilizing advanced math and sophisticated financial engineering software and through ongoing development of data and statistical analyses including valuation and forecasting models, optimization frameworks and multiperiod scenario analysis 
  • Continues to develop working knowledge across complex asset classes, derivatives, market fundamentals, and industries.
  • Assists in development of complex analytical models to monitor exposures; Supports and conducts portfolio-wide stress testing utilizing financial engineering models.
  • Works closely with Directors and Portfolio Managers to assess quantitative and analytical needs.  Has ability to identify unique solutions to complex challenges.
  • Applies financial, economic, and industry best practices to model creation, portfolio analysis, and research projects.  Understands financial implications of market risk and how to apply a modeling concept to a real-world problem.


Bring Your Best! What this role needs:


  • MBA or Masters in Finance, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative field.  Or, Bachelors with CFA or other professional designation (FSA, CPA, FRM).
  • 3-5 years of risk management, investment, banking, research or related experience.
  • Understanding of global financial markets and financial instruments, interest and desire to learn more about market dynamics and drivers of performance
  • Strong command of modern financial and economic theories, financial engineering techniques, hands on programing skills (including MATLAB or similar language/package)
  • Proficiency in time series analysis and forecasting
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, sentiment analysis and other advanced concepts a plus
  • Proven technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively and professionally within a diverse team
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively
  • Intellectual curiosity and passion for innovation and discovery
