The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, contributing to technology & product roadmaps while directly providing hands-on skills required to develop, configure and deploy security solutions for Microsoft Office 365 products.  The O365 Lead Security Engineer is a member of the Cyber Security O365 team who actively partners with the O365 product team (colleagues at NM) to together ensure security is appropriately integrated within the products being delivered throughout the organization.  Key security aspects which will be evaluated are Advanced Security, Identity and Access Management, Encryption, Data Protection, Network Access, Audit and Logging.  Will be responsible for identifying, evaluating and reporting on information & technology risks in a manner that meets compliance/regulatory requirements; aligning to support the risk posture of the enterprise.  This will be achieved leveraging a partnership with Information Risk Management to assure alignment of operational risk management practices & processes are in place.  Will assist leaders in prioritizing along with developing technologies & procedures to address information & technologies Microsoft O365 risks/security gaps. 

 

What you’ll do each day:

  • Develop, configure, deploy and support security solutions for Microsoft Office 365 products (Office Suite, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Yammer, OneDrive for Business and Teams, Power BI, Intune, etc.)
    • Note: O365 product team is responsible for support of the Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Be a thought leader with respect to contributing on O365 product architecture/roadmaps and secure integration
  • Keep abreast of O365 security industry trends & standards
  • Communicate effectively with technical & non-technical team members, colleagues and leaders
  • Provide technical guidance to those who may not have the same in-depth knowledge of O365 products

What skills do you need?

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, IT Engineering or a significant amount of directly-related work experience beyond the minimum required for the position
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Proven business and technical communication skills; ability to communicate in both business and technical terminology based on the situation and the audience
  • Proven people interaction skills to include human relations and interpersonal skills necessary to facilitate productive design/solutioning discussions
  • Partners well with others; proven ability to foster collaboration among team members and across teams

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft O365 products & Cyber Security with an eagerness to continue to grow this knowledge
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, ADFS, Single Sign-On, Federated Authentication (SAML), and Conditional Access
  • Management of Office 365 Enterprise Mobility and MDM capabilities via Microsoft Intune
  • Ability to identify security risks within the O365 environment and suggest mitigations
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting
  • Strong understanding of information risks and IT general controls
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks
  • Strong ability to build consensus around complex technical and business decisions
  • Strong ability to create and execute communication plans
  • Experience working in a highly regulated industry
  • Certified Microsoft Office 365, Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
