Northwestern Mutual Capital (“NMC”): NMC is the private investment management group of Northwestern Mutual ($200+ billion total AUM) and manages a portfolio of $46 billion of private debt and equity investments.  NMC’s portfolio spans a variety of assets, industries, and geographies across the private markets, including, investment grade debt, mezzanine, equity co-investments, and limited partnership interests.  NMC’s investment team consists of over 30 professionals.



What's the role?

An Associate is responsible for the analysis, evaluation, and execution of private debt and equity investment opportunities offered to Northwestern Mutual Capital by investment bankers, issuers, and private equity sponsors. Specific responsibilities include financial modeling and valuation analysis, developing investment committee recommendation memos, conducting industry and business due diligence and meeting with senior level executives, investment bankers, and private equity sponsors to obtain a thorough understanding of the investment merits and risks of the transaction. Associates are also responsible for monitoring investments in the Northwestern Mutual Capital portfolio. The Associate, operating in a team environment, will be given increasing responsibility over time and high performers can expect significant career advancement opportunities.

  • Requirements include an MBA with a concentration in finance.
  • Previous relevant work experience is a plus. Minimum of four years of experience in investment banking, private equity, equity research or other related industries.
