Distribution Business Consultant

What’s the role?

As a Distribution Business Consultant, working across our regional Distribution Performance teams (Regional VPs, Principals and consultants), you will bring your ability to tell a story with data to help these teams function efficiently and drive enterprise priorities.  You will work across the department and across the enterprise to provide key insights into the performance of the distribution system, while gathering feedback used to improve the systems and processes of the department.  You will take an active role in identifying areas for improvement within current systems, and will be looked to as a subject matter expert within the team and department.

  • Gathers data and feedback, and builds tools to monitor the performance of the Distribution Performance regional teams (e.g., distribution of regional performance team resources, follow through on execution against enterprise asks of Distribution Performance). 
  • Supports efforts to look across Distribution Performance regional teams to identify and implement process, structural and infrastructure improvements.  Builds and maintains tools used by Distribution Performance regional teams and promotes and aligns usage across teams.
  • Uses strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data in order to create and deliver recommendations across all levels of leadership
  • Generates reporting on distribution system results for presentation to senior leadership
  • Assists in the development of and delivers training, processes and tools to support the Distribution Performance department and to drive alignment with functional and broader strategic goals and priorities.
  • Supports key Distribution Performance department platforms that enable regional team members to (1) execute on prioritized enterprise initiatives; (2) provide the enterprise with desired transparency, input and feedback; and (3) execute on performance management responsibilities. 
  • Takes an active role in the integration of the performance team with the broader enterprise as well as creating and maintaining appropriate feedback loops

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, data analytics or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years in training development, consulting, project management or similar experience with a demonstrated record of collaborative problem solving and assessment and experience working in or supporting the field.
  • Proven ability to devise processes for tracking and measuring data and information so that program usage and results can be tracked for measurement and process improvement purposes
  • Expertise in one or more development or analytical tools such as PowerBI, Netezza, SAS, Tableau, SQL, SQL-based ETL, SPSS, Visual Basic, TSO, Unix, JCL or other tool
  • Proven ability to be responsive to changing business needs, manage and prioritize concurrent assignments, and handle ambiguity.
  • Highly effective communication skills to build consensus, sell ideas and influence change; leading and collaborating with variety of home office teams, group presentation and facilitation, and recommending strategy/approach to business unit leadership team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-departmental teams.
  • Ability to write professional program and presentation content and documentation with mentoring and direction from team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn concept into a field deliverable.  Proven experience in creating and delivering compelling messaging, packaging and communication of presentations/programs.
  • Must be able to influence change at times without management authority by influencing others to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
