What’s the role?

The Assistant Director of Strategy Integration owns strategic work streams answering business unit level questions that have significant impact on the near and long-term success of Northwestern Mutual. In this role, you will monitor industry and competitor trends and data to extract insights relevant to Northwestern Mutual’s strategic direction and specific operational questions and present those findings and recommendations to senior leadership with a focus on translating insights into actions.


Principle Accountabilities:

  • Perform data analysis and modeling to build insights required to make strategic decisions
  • Structure and execute primary research required to solidify strategic recommendations
  • Participate and lead (when appropriate) cross functional teams implementing strategic recommendations

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, engineering, mathematics, economics, or related field.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Prior management consulting or investment banking experience strongly desired
  • Prior financial service industry experience nice to have
  • Strong analytical experience working with large data sets and building models in Excel· 
  • Proven experience and interest in structuring ambiguous business problems and driving to recommendations using facts and analysis
  • Superior communication skills with experience packaging and delivering stories in Powerpoint
