What's the role?

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide thought leadership and industry best practices to Northwestern Mutual’s Talent Management and Organizational Development strategies in the areas of performance management, talent review and movement, succession planning, assessment, and organizational effectiveness and design. Via teamwork within the Talent Management team, and in partnership with multiple HR and business stakeholders, you will:

  • Drive the design, development, and execution of talent and organizational processes, tools, and technologies that support and evolve the company’s approach to performance management, talent review and movement, succession planning, Hi Po, assessment, and organizational effectiveness.
  • In partnership with HR Business Partners and Talent Managers, be a key contributor in large scale, cross organizational projects to address and improve organizational effectiveness, alignment and design.
  • Manage assigned projects including tracking and ensuring that:  projects are on track and on budget, communications, training, and change plans proactively address audience needs, and measurements and feedback loops are in place to determine successful accomplishment of desired outcomes.

Bring Your Best! What this role needs:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on Business, Organizational Development or Industrial/Organizational Psychology is required.  Master’s degree desirable.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant work experience in organizational consulting/organizational effectiveness/performance consulting/business improvement role in progressively responsible roles in high performance companies.
  • In depth understanding of multiple areas of Talent & Organizational Development including organizational design, performance management, talent review, succession planning and/or assessment.
  • Strong analytical and research skills with proven ability to absorb complex information and independently solve problems in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take an idea from conception to successful and sustainable execution.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with an ability to lead, manage, and collaborate in multiple and diverse projects. 
  • High degree of self-motivation with leadership and initiative in sharing information, contributing towards group goals, and accepting responsibility for results.
