What's the role?

  • Responsible for training and mentoring team of Regional Financial Consultants to ensure quality and consistency of financial consulting and data analysis.  Directly supervises team of Regional Financial Consultants who are responsible to Distribution Performance regional teams in a matrixed reporting structure.  Together with peer Assistant Director – Distribution Finance, ensures consistency in training, consulting and data analysis methods, policies and best practices across Distribution Performance regional teams.
  • Manages team of Regional Financial Consultants, including selection, onboarding, development, performance management and engagement.
  • Gathers and synthesizes input and feedback from Distribution Performance regional team members on financial consulting and data analysis generally and the performance of Regional Financial Consultants.  Responsible for developing collaborative and effective working relationships with Distribution Performance regional team leaders.
  • Drives alignment with Distribution Performance department goals and priorities.  Key contributor to creating the strategic direction for the Regional Financial Consulting team to achieve functional and cross-functional objectives. 
  • Applies deep subject matter expertise (including advisor and field leader contracts, field office economics, financing and expense management) and broad understanding of interrelated nature of field office business models and Holistic Performance Management dimensions to provide guidance and leadership
    • Establishing teams consulting approach, policies and best practices
    • Setting the team’s direction on technical analysis
    • Developing the team’s modeling focus
    • Advancing the team’s financial acumen
  • Utilizes deep subject matter expertise in ad hoc financial reviews and analysis of field offices and broader project work and analysis with a system-wide focus.  Provides data, analysis and guidance to leadership at all levels of the organization. 
  • Provides key financial, field office and system-wide perspective necessary to guide cross-functional projects and initiatives including compensation design, distribution strategy and program reviews.
  • In collaboration with team leadership and other Distribution Performance department colleagues, develops financial tools (modeling, retirement, net income projection, cash flow analysis, investment ROI, etc.) and reports for internal and field use.  Owns and maintains tools and reports and promotes and aligns usage across Distribution Performance regional teams.
  • Develops and provides coaching and training internally and to the field to improve financial acumen and promote office self-sufficiency.

  •  Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance required.
  •  MBA or CFA strongly preferred.
  •  Minimum of 7-10 years of related business experience working with financial statements, performing financial analysis and modeling, and using spreadsheet tools.
  •  Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to analyze business problems and make decisions.
  •  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and carry out diverse assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  •  Demonstrated ability to build rapport and acceptance at all levels within the Home Office and Field.
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  •  Demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical or financial information to various audiences to gain common understanding.
