We’re looking for a high performing and experienced lead solutions engineer to design, build, and scale our Infrastructure platforms. Using knowledge of reference architecture and design solutions, the lead solutions engineer will work with domain experts to ensure individual technology area visions for current and emerging technologies align with the overall long-term roadmap and technology vision. Reviews technology landscape and identifies opportunities for cost savings. We’d love to hear from you if:

  • Responsible for solutions for the platform in these key areas: high availability, security, performance, monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • A generalist, capable of picking up and working with multiple, disparate systems, and an expert, having an ability to dive deep into specific topics; can comfortably move between system, service, and component level views.
  • Lead technical architecture discussions from early exploration of ideas to deciding on a concrete path forward
  • Lead projects, partner with the business and meet clients to understand their workflows and ensure solutions address security, availability, and maintainability needs
  • Review technical designs to ensure that they are consistent with defined architecture principles, standards and best practices.
  • Govern the introduction of new technologies. Review, align, and drive technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and architects as appropriate to determine optimal solution architecture, efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Lead engineering teams to deliver a highly-available runtime Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering to support rapid application delivery and operation.
  • Help measure and improve reliability and performance across the product line by working with product owners and engineering teams.
  • Conduct analysis sessions, document decisions, and develops and maintains artifacts in the Architecture Library.
  • Assesses, recommends and builds compelling business cases for emerging technologies and appropriate technical solutions.
  • Superior enterprise knowledge of the following technology architecture domains: application, collaboration, data integration, networks, platform, security and systems management, site reliability engineering.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record in infrastructure platforms, software, data or related field of engineering.
  • Experience with engineering best practices to include analyzing, designing, developing, and deploying and supporting software solutions and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades.
  • Experience with Distributed Systems and desired understating in operating services running in the cloud (AWS primarily) or virtualized API-driven platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of business operations and enterprise strategic focus in insurance and financial services industry knowledge.
  • Proven ability to lead decision making process through idea sharing and consensus building.
  • Proven ability to comprehend business strategies to ensure technical directions are supportive and consistent within the company.
